What’s New on the 2018 Ford Mustang?
For 2018, the Mustang is the recipient of a significant refresh. For starters, the front and rear of the vehicle have been restyled. The changes under the hood of the car are, however, more substantial. After some feedback from Mustang enthusiasts from across the country, Ford has retuned the suspension system to deliver better overall ride quality. Power has never been an issue with the Mustang, but this tweak helps provide a more refined ride experience in the 2018 Mustang.
Another big change is that the V6 version of the Mustang has been discontinued. Also, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine option has now gained additional torque. Amazingly, the V8 engine under the hood of the 2018 Mustang now offers even more horsepower plus a redesigned manual gearbox and two-mode exhaust system.

The History of the Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang made its debut in 1964 at the New York World’s Fair. To say that the Mustang was an instant success would be a gross understatement. In its first two years on the market, the Mustang sold over two million units. The Mustang was, in fact, so successful it created a whole new genre of vehicles known as “pony cars.”
The Mustang continued to sell well over the next two decades and in 1984 Ford celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Mustang with a special V8 powered Mustang GT. During the late 1980’s sales of the Mustang began to lag and Ford decided to redesign the car to more closely match the public’s current tastes.
The Mustang has changed shapes and features over the years, but remains one of the most iconic models in the automaker’s lineup to this day.
