2026 Ford Bronco vs Bronco Sport
Here at Gilland Ford we are excited to showcase two of Ford’s exciting additions to their SUV lineup – the Bronco and the Bronco Sport. Keep reading to learn more about the frequently asked questions customers ask when deciding which one to take home!
Exterior Options
One of the key differences between the 2026 Bronco and the 2026 Bronco Sport is the ability to choose removable doors and roof configurations. If you’re looking for an open-air driving experience as you cruise along Highway 231, you’ll want to choose the Bronco. It features removable doors on select trims and several removable or retractable roof options. The Bronco Sport does not offer removable doors or roof. The Bronco is also available in a two-door and a 4-door version, whereas the Bronco Sport is strictly a four-door SUV. Aside from that, both models have rugged exterior design details, including a reinforced front bumper with the Bronco logo on the striking front grille, circular headlights, and trail-ready accessories.
Interior Space and Passenger Capacity
When it comes to interior space for your passengers and gear, there are few factors that separate the Bronco and the Bronco Sport. The Bronco interior has more variables, depending on if you choose a two-door or a four-door version. If you mainly travel solo or with one other passenger, the smaller size of the two-door is easy to maneuver and you’ll still have a small rear seat with capacity for up to four people total. The four-door versions of the Bronco have a larger second row area, providing seating for up to five passengers and around 34 cubic feet of cargo space. The Bronco works out well for Ozark drivers who want a compact frame and seating for up to five passengers. All trims feature the same passenger capacity and you’ll have 32.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats with the ability to access up to 65.2 cubic feet of stow-away space when the rear bench is folded down.
Towing and Drivetrain
If you’re planning to take your boat out to George T. Babgby State Park or attach your camper for a road trip, you may be wondering which model has the towing power you need. The majority of the 2026 Bronco trims offer a 3,500-lb. maximum towing capacity1 but it’s worth noting that the Raptor trim ups the ante with a 4,500-lb. maximum towing capacity1, making this model a great choice for those with larger items. As a smaller vehicle the Bronco Sport has slightly less hauling capabilities but still plenty of travel possibilities with the standard 2,200-lb. maximum towing capacity2 or up to 2,700-lb. maximum towing capacity2. As off-road focused vehicles, both the Bronco and the Bronco Sport feature standard 4WD on all trims. Additional all-terrain models and more advanced 4x4 capabilities are available as well.
