How Much Can the 2020 Explorer Tow?

Thanks in part to the standard 10-speed automatic transmission mated to the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, you’ll be able harness the 300-hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque at your disposal for a 5,300-lb. towing capacity³. Should you choose to equip the available 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 system, you stand to gain even more. When placed beneath the hood of the Platinum edition, this powertrain arms you with 365-hp and 380 lb.-ft. of torque, whereas the Explorer ST raises the bar with 400-hp and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. However, both trims have a 5,600-lb. towing capacity³, so you can haul large loads with relative ease.

Leasing

Instead of calculating your monthly rate from its retail value, we’ll account for the Ford Explorer’s depreciation based on the length of your agreement and your yearly mileage allowance.
